\u3010Past Exhibition\u3011<\/p>\n

Try to visualize your favorite clothes in your closet: the one-piece you put on for your first date, the sweater you received by your grandmother, the dress you have been longing for since when you were a child\u2026Have\u00a0 you\u00a0 ever\u00a0 noticed how those clothes, tailored by a stranger\u2019s hands, are now telling your story and helping you to build your relations with the other people?
This\u00a0 exhibition will take you to distance yourself from the limits imposed by such\u00a0 concepts as \u201ctrend\u201d and \u201cconsumption\u201d created by the design and fashion industry. It will also lead you to include the way you dress in the view\u00a0 of\u00a0 your\u00a0 personal\u00a0 and public relations and make you reconsider your everyday act of \u201cwearing clothes\u201d.
In June, Gunma Prefecture had the honor to see the Tomioka Silk Mill and the Related Silk Industrial Heritage being inscribed to the World Heritage List. Gunma Prefecture\u00a0 once prospered thanks to silk production and exportation\u00a0 and\u00a0 it is right from this place that we would like to suggest you to rethink the meaning and the purpose of wearing clothes.<\/p>\n
